And immediately Jesus, perceiving in His spirit that they questioned within themselves… (Mark 2:8)
It is most interesting that Jesus immediately perceived in His spirit what the Scribes were thinking. This points out again that nothing can be hidden from the sight of God. This is certainly true of secret sins. God knows every thing about us. Those things done in darkness come into light with Him.
i have had my share of secret sins. Sins that I have attempted to hide from God. Jesus perceives in His spirit even our thoughts and motives. I really want to be open to God — an open book if you will. No more hiding from Him. Open confession to Him. An open heart to His amazing grace.
As much as I have preached against it, I am a Pharisee at heart like most of us. I worry about what people think, not what God thinks. Yes, call it for what it is, I easily could be a Pharisee. Time has come for honesty with God. Time to ask Him to examine me and to know my heart.
Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me and lead me in the way everlasting. (Psalm 139:23-24)
Lord, listen to my prayer, search me, know my heart, show me my grievous ways and lead me in the way everlasting. For Jesus’ sake. Amen.
I acknowledged my sin to You, and I did not cover my iniquity, I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,” and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. (Psalm 32:5)
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. (I John 1:9-10)
Thank you, O God, for all these rich promises!
In order to experience true transformation in your life, you must first begin with a repentant heart. It is then that your heart is open and clean to receive all that God has for you!
