MORE THAN CONQUERORS

Scripture Reading: Romans 8:31-39

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37)

Before we move on from Romans 8, we need to look at one more verse — “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” These are amazing words! We are MORE than conquerors through HIM who loved us!

Let’s face it; we will experience tribulation. Jesus made it very clear — “In the world you will have tribulation” (John 16:33b). Peter tells us — “Do not be surprised at the firry ordeal among you” (I Peter 4:12). Life on this earth is full of troubles, disappointments, pain and suffering. But even so, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

We will face fierce spiritual battles across the course of our lives — “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against the authorities, against cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12). But even so, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

We will face times of distress and opposition. Read Paul’s experiences in II Corinthians 11:24-28. He was beaten and stoned; he faced danger, toil and hardship. We may have similar experiences to face. Even so, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

The Key to our victories is found in the phrase, “through Him who loved us.” Remember that nothing “in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” He is with us and He will give us the victory.

Lord Jesus, thank you for loving me with Your protective and powerful love. Thank You that no matter what I face, I know that I will have victory because You are with me and You will deliver me. In all the things I will face, I know that I am more than a conqueror through You who loves me with Your everlasting love.
